Mourning Cloak

On one of our many hikes this spring at Lebanon Regional Park in Eagan, there were about 10-15 Mourning Cloaks all over this tree. It was beautiful, and my patience paid off in capturing this one.

Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park

April 27-29, 2012

This was our first visit to this State Park, and it did not disappoint. It was a very cold/dreary weekend, but it seemed that we managed to find color/interest wherever we traveled that day. It was a good weekend, with a lot of surprises.

• Annabelle saw her first horse up close (an Amish horse). She was quivering from head to tail. 
• I had an "haunting" experience at the church.
• The sun did peak through several times, and we quick hiked somewhere to take advantage of the warm beams of light.
• Coffee always tastes better when you are camping.
• We (this is difficult to believe) roasted our first hot dogs over an open campfire.
